The lodge has over 2,500 sq. ft. of decks and porches so no matter what time of day it is you can find some shade or sun to relax in a rocker or chair. The covered front porch is great if it's raining to listen to the rain on the metal roof or to watch the sun set over Lookout Mountain. The back screened in porch is awesome to enjoy birdwatching or listening to the sounds of nature. The enclosed porch has the foosball table and sauna and outdoor game equipment and the 3 balcony decks are great for a morning cup of coffee to start your day. The large side deck has incredible views year round as you can see to the end of the cove.
The back patio has the hot tub and leads to the 36 ft inground pool that is exclusively for your use. The pool is the place to be for all ages either wearing out the young ones or relaxing for the older ones. Also in the back is the fire pit and outdoor fireplace which provide endless hours of memories while relaxing and roasting marshmallows.
There are 3 acres of front yard space for kids to roam and play games as well as the woods to explore. Take a mile hike on the property that goes through the woods and across the lower pasture to Chickamauga Creek which is on the property. The creek is 30 feet wide and usually is only a few feet deep. The kids love to play in the creek and look for animals and their footprints. Also, searching for arrowheads is a popular endeavor around the creek as well.
The Lodge of McLemore's Cove is a custom built 6,000 square foot log home that has many unique features that will make your stay memorable. The 28 ft. cathedral ceilings and the massive 10 foot front doors are a glimpse into what is in store for our guests. The Lodge sits atop a ridge with Lookout Mountain 2 miles to the west and Pigeon Mountain 2 miles to the east and the end of the McLemore's Cove 5 miles to the south. The early risers can watch the sun peek over Pigeon Mountain and everyone can watch the beautiful sunsets over Lookout Mountain. And the best is yet to come as once the sun sets the spectacular night sky puts on a show that is breathtaking. Not only is the Lodge itself fantastic for a family reunion but the surrounding area, including Chattanooga proper, and Jon, the owner, ensured an amazing week was had by all. We were 3 generations (from almost 2 to over 70) traveling from 10 states to enjoy the long awaited time together - and we weren't disappointed. The kitchen facilities (we even held our own Chopped ala the Cooking Channel), the sleeping options, the pool, the outside spaces, the decks, the games, the trails, the stream, the inside seating options - combined for each of us making memories forever. Despite the travel required by all, none were disappointed. And, as was hoped, the time spent together only led to talk of when can we do this again. Absolutely the BEST - every moment.

What a great place for our family reunion! There were 24 of us, and we also occupied the auxiliary house as well as the lodge. The location is very rural (perfect) and the property is just beautiful. The grass trails made it easy for even the youngest of children to stroll down to the creek, and the views from the front porch or the massive deck of the lodge are awesome. The property owner, Jon, comes by daily to take care of the trash, clean the pool if needed, and take care of anything that may need attention. He also has some great suggestions on local sightseeing or activities in Chattanooga. He is a real nice guy. Our family has a reunion every 3 years or so in different locations, and we will all have great memories about this one.

We had 12 guys come down and play golf at the LaFayette Golf Course and house is amazing. I would recommend this location to any group to have a relaxing weekend.

This a great place for a getaway- quiet and secluded - but with everything you need to relax and enjoy your time! Owner is very good to work with. We will be back - I hope!

The lodge worked out great for our group. We had 5 families with young children. The house had plenty of space and the kids loved going to the creek and playing in the yard. Jon was easy to work with and made us feel right at home throughout the weekend. We would definitely recommend!

The Lodge at McClemore's Cove was the ideal location for our retreat location. The property was beautiful and the scenery was magnificent. It was very peaceful. There was plenty of room indoors and outside. Mr. Jon was a wonderful host and I would highly recommend this rental property for a large group.
